Hitherto coming on board Hybrid Oil & Gas Limited as Chairman, he was the Special Assistant on Strategy/Policy/Finance and Admin TO Managing Director/CEO, NIGER DELTA DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION (NDDC) between 2003 and 2006.Prior to joining the NDDC, he was at United Bank for Africa Plc as Assistant General Manager with responsibility for developing the Oil & Gas business in the Energy Division of the Corporate Banking Sector at the Head Office in Lagos. His job function in the bank included managing all forms of financial relationships between existing customers and the Bank in ensuring that excellent services and tailored products are delivered whilst also prospecting for new ones. The target market covered Lagos, Port Harcourt, Warri, Eket, and Bonny. As at October 2003 the total portfolio/balance sheet under his management was over N10 billion (Naira facilities) US$120 million (US Dollar facilities).

Hitherto, Emmanuel was with the National Corporate Division of the same Corporate Banking Sector of the United Bank for Africa Plc from December 2, 1996 until July 2000 when he moved over to the Energy Division. Whilst in the National Corporate Division he had responsibility for managing relationships in the following industries, namely: Packaging, Plastics, Household and Building Materials, Cement, Footwear etc.

He was also at Citizens International Bank Limited (now Spring Bank) between 1992 and 1996 and at ARTHUR ANDERSEN & CO (now Accenture) between 1998 and 19992 as a Senior Management Consultant. At the then Arthur Andersen he was a staff consultant on the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Project on Commercialisation and Reorganisation in 1989 – 1990.

Emmanuel is 1983 Political Science and Public Administration graduate of the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria and has an MBA from the same University.
He won the Chief Oduaran Memorial Prize as the Best Graduating Student in Political Science & Public Administration/Business Administration in 1983, at the University of Benin, Benin City. He also won the Federal Government of Nigeria Merit Award for Academic Excellence in 1981 1983 (Scholarship), University of Benin, Benin – City.
